I highly enjoyed the portrayal by Selleck of Ike. I didn't know much about him going in, but it really did put a human face on the Supreme Allied Commander. He was worried, he cared, he wanted to minimize the loss of human life. But he also knew it was the most important thing for us to do at the time. Very well done movie, I recommend to anyone interested in History.

Tom Selleck is completely believable as Ike, the photography and story telling are execellent. It's not so deep that someone needs to have a good understanding of the period or the man to enjoy this movies, however if you do have such an understanding this movie will help with putting a more human face on Eisenhower. The directors commentary is really a good addition to the movie. It was filmed in 20 days, you can't tell by the production values and depth of character.

If you like blood and guts, this movie isn't for you. If you are interested in history and enjoy seeing how the mechanics of military decisions and operations work, then you'll love this movie. I've seen it countless times and will continue to watch it.
