Mireille Bouquet is a professional assassin who can handle absolutely any situation. Or can she? When Mireille receives a cryptic message containing a reference to her childhood memory of her parents' death, a deadly plot begins to unfold involving Mireille and a mysterious woman named Yuumura Kirika, who has the skills of a master killer but no memory of her past. Mireille agrees to take on Yuumura as a partner for the time being, but has no idea when she'll have to turn her back on Yuumura or even The Soldats, the organization that they work for. Highly stylized and almost completely bloodless, Noir includes many slick fighting sequences but little to no flashy imagery or gore. Noir is highly acclaimed for its soundtrack, which features electronica, opera, and French music. ~ Cammila Collar, Rovi

I've been slowly getting into anime, and Noir was one of the more recent series I watched. I loved every second of it! The animation is beautiful, and while there is a lot of action scenes, it's relatively bloodless [i.e., the opposite of Kill Bill]. The soundtrack is phenomenal and the plot is engrossing. If you like action, anime, and attractive women killing people, then you'll love this series.

First, let me say that this series is so different from the anime's that my husband watch. There's no panty shots or any extreme amont of gore and certainly, there's no sex. Having said that, I really loved this series. The plot may have been slow, but it was very deep and engrossing as were the two main characters. I really felt for them. The hauntingly smooth music went so well with the action and the voice acting was surprisingly good. I'm no expert on animation. They all look alike to me so I'll leave that alone But all in all a very good series for people like me who don't want a lot of smut and gore in their animated entertainment.
