Don't be misled by the cover art. This isn't an action mech anime. This is a drama narrative about 2 people. With that in mind, it does a great job and keeps it emotional. Some Japanese stories do move slow without explaining a lot of what people might think needs elaboration, and this is one of those films.

Sad story about the separation of two friends during interstellar war. The animation is very good, but the movie is too short to really draw the viewer in. You still feel the emotional strain of the characters, which is the most important part, but I think there was probably a lot lost in translation between the manga and film.

Heartwrenching and Poignant, this anime will capture your heart and mind from the get go.
