I read the write-up and saw the ranking and thought, why not. What a hunk of garbage. Characters were one dimensional, with horrible horribly English dubbed dialogue. One person talks, other sits and waits, then tries to deliver come back. The story sounds interesting, but oh my, one of the worst plots ever. They have been faking the electric chair for years, but most people just give up and die because they want to, except these two losers. Enter some horrible actress and one set enclosed in all metal. This looks cheaps, from the writing, acting, cinematography, special effects (if there were any), scenes, wardrobe, lighting. I am embarrassed to say I watched 1 whole hour of this hoping it would pick up and you would see a cool alien. The alien is a life force inside a normal person, no effects, no nothing. Stinker. Pass this up instantly.

This movie would be better categorized as SciFi & Fantasy. That aside, it was a pretty good movie. It would have rated higher had there been more locations and background on the characters. Which is interesting because the movie clocks in at around 1 hour and 50 minutes and there should have been ample time for exposition. The movie could feel claustrophobic to some since almost 85% of the movie is shot in the experimental chamber. There is a bonus disc 2, but it may not be worth adding to your queue since all it contains is a boring cast and crew interview, trailers of the movie, a theatrical release of the movie (in stereo - I didn't notice any other difference compared to disc 1) and a version with commentary. The audio was in Dolby Digital 5.1 with good use of surround sound and options to select Japanese or English dialogue with English subtitles. There is also a well done Matrix style fight scene with equally good special effects near the end of the movie. Definitely recommended.
