It's difficult to support the claim that "Tomie: Replay" is the ultimate in any type of terror as most of the horror elements are performed off screen. And it's not explained why Tomie kept regenerating, nor why she had a grudge against anyone in this movie. But that's the continuing theme in movies like "Halloween" and "Friday the 13th", which it easily compares to. Having said that, "Tomie: Replay" neither lowers or raises interest in "Tomie", it just adds another nonsensical story to the series. To correct the synopsis, "Tomie: Replay" is the second movie in the "Tomie" series. The acting, directing, sound and story are slightly above average considering the type of horror films that came out in 2000. Although the audio is output in Dolby Digital 5.1, surround sounds weren't noticeable. The only extras are five "Tomie" trailers and a still gallery consisting of four illustrations. Moderately recommended if you liked any of the other four "Tomie" movies.
