    Not one of the better old hollywood movies I have watched... long...boring..slow... hoped it would get better as I watched the movie..it never did

    A long talky film in which it is impossible to connect with any of the characters. What was the big deal with Ava Gardner?

    I originally saw this movie when I was in high school and did not understand much of the film (due to Hayes' morality codes). Now, I'm able to appreciate the information Mankiewicz was criptically trying to portray. Great performances by Bogart and Gardner. Definitely worth watching!
