Zakir Hussein is a master magician. What he weaves on a tabla is transcendant. He can seemlessly blend with any style of music thrown at him which really speaks of the mastery that he has with his instrument. Ustad Sultan Khan on Sarangi is also on this very high level. Put these 2 together and magic is made. Add Gigi, one of my favorite African singers from Ethiopia, Karsh Kale on percussion, Bill Laswell on bass, a scratcher who is amazing, and others who I don't know and you have one heck of a concert. Bravo.

How do they get 200 minutes? The first disc is only about a half hour long! It is good though. No regrets about renting it.

I have heard both of Tabla Beat Science's albums, tala matrix and the live in san fran one. This dvd does not disappoint...Every musician is a master of their instrument and they play very innovative music that transcends genre and time.
