Mission of the Shark (1991)

Mission of the Shark (1991)
Member Rating:
When a top secret naval mission leads to the torpedoing of the U.S.S. Indianapolis at the end of WWII, it began one of the most scandalous court-martials in the history of the military. For five days the surviving crew members were left in the shark-infested waters, with only half of them surviving to be rescued. Their well-respected Captain accepted the responsibility to keep the scandal to a minimum but his court-martial only served to show that justice is not always found in military proceedings but rather mere expediency. ~ Tana Hobart, Rovi

This movie was horrible. The events are not 100% accurate either. I can only hope that someday it is redone and redone well.

This is a "B movie" at best and obviously a "made for TV" movie, as the scenes pause where the commercials are to be inserted. I should've known that if John Boy and Stacey Keach were going to be in it...it wasn't going to be first rate. The movie hobbled along and was difficult to watch.

based on a true story the uss indianapolis did go down. But I do agree there should be more to it. But when that ship did go down those men did get bit by sharks when they were in the water for 7 days. Basicly that this movie is just telling the story of the men that was stranded after there ship went down. Thats tipucal while watching some thing based on a true story but there is more to it.
