Adorable film in Yunan. The Hani people are represented well, as is Chinese copy-cat syndrome when it comes to business. A love story of money, tradition, and desire for the unknown modern world. Beautiful.

While it's very rude, it's an unfortunate reality that tourists treat locals as scenery and take pictures of them without their permission. If you liked "Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress", you might like this movie as they both deal with rural Chinese youth being influenced by outside sources. The acting and directing were well done. The cinematography is so good that every now and then you might want to pause the screen just to look at the scenery. Unfortunately, the story ends rather abruptly and will probably leave you wanting for a better ending. The subtitles had a few grammatical and spelling errors with a few incomplete sentences. The audio is in stereo. The only extra is a "Databank" option consisting of a synopsis and credits for the two main actors. Recommended.
