This animated version of the classic tale Pinocchio follows the familiar storyline of a toymaker named Gepetto who longs to have a son. He carves a wooden boy, names him Pinocchio, and is surprised when The Blue Fairy brings the toy to life -- although he is still made of wood. Pinocchio gets into many misadventures but eventually proves himself worthy of being turned into a real boy after he sacrifices himself to save Gepetto after a whale swallows the man. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi
