I'm not much of a Diana Ross fan. I always wondered what the big hoopla was about her from the Supremes and when she went solo, but in this movie she is a genuinely GOOD actress. I never knew. Now I see why Berry Gordy cast her in this and Lady Sings the Blues. Great to watch if you have never seen it before. Abrupt ending though. Good enough for first time entertainment.

This film was released in 1975, and I can still remember lines around the corner to to see it. Diana is as usaul, enchanting, dispite a weak script. But the movie doesn't dissapoint and the Oscar-nominated theme song was a solid number one hit. An entertaining movie

I have mixed feelings about this movie. Being a Diana Ross fan myself, I enjoy her acting and even though the script isn't well written, I think the point of the film rings loud and clear..Money, fame, and success.."means nothing without someone to share it with". It has turned into a cult classic and if you like Diana Ross and Billy Dee Williams, then you will enjoy this film.
