Helmut Berger plays the title character in the Italian melodrama Mad Dog. Berger isn't foaming at the mouth or anything, but he is dangerous, and his bark is far worse than his bite. Sent to jail by an honest police officer, Beger manages to escape. He then methodically conducts a campaign of terror to destroy the cop.
