Synopsis of Haijiao Tianya

Director Jofei Chen's Haijiao Tianya (Incidental Journey) follows self-absorbed Ching (Wu Su-Li), who impulsively picks up the hitchhiking Hsiang (Wang Wan-Jung) after appraising her on the side of the road. Lesbianism seems to be the only thing shared among the two women -- Ching is image-obsessed and reeling from a recent breakup, while Hsiang is an open-hearted artist. Despite their obvious differences, Ching agrees to drive Hsiang to her destination. Once there, Hsiang's friends welcome Ching into their home, where she loosens up considerably and becomes more than a little attracted to Hsiang. ~ Tracie Cooper, Rovi
