This director does not make blockbuster hits in S.Korea but foreign film festivals have awarded him and his movies numerous times. Best Director awards at the Berlin Int'l Film Festival and the Venice Film Festival to name a few. http://www.koreanfilm.org/kimkiduk.html His work is out there, I tell ya.

This movie is about a woman who is forced into prostitution by an evil scheme of Han-gi. She later discovers this and hates him, but as the movie progresses she realizes how much trouble he gets into because of her and develop a deep relationship with him. Great movie, the ending was unexpected and Han-gi's character is well developed, even though he doesn't say much throughout the whole film.

Great movie!...the lighting of each shot is almost like a photograph....girls like bad guys so there is the logic..a must see..im a independent movie type....the movie is from a voyers perspective and is that not what a movie is a voyer experience?
