At a secret laboratory in the Mojave Desert, a renegade scientific unit of the U.S. military is working on a top-secret project that involves breeding poisonous rattlesnakes that develop a highly contagious virus. But enemy terrorists, in a botched effort to steal the snakes, destroy the lab, releasing the rattlers into the wild. Years later, an earthquake unleashes hordes of aggressive, virus-infected rattlesnakes on a remote town. As the viral epidemic begins killing town doctor Henning's (Treat Williams) friends and family, corrupt military officials plan to blow up the town with a massive firebomb to cover up the incriminating source of the diabolical disease. With the Stealth plane carrying the bomb headed Dr. Henning's way, and with the town littered with dying citizens, Henning has to find a way to save the day -- and perhaps the planet. ~ Buzz McClain, Rovi

This movie Sucks, It tries to copy Outbreak and sucks very much ... Frankly spoken I don't expect much of a good movie, especially if it is labelled 'horror'. All I want is a tiny bit of original material. Venomous fails to deliver any of that. The story is taken from 'Outbreak' only without that movies' style and class. The special effects range from dull to not existent, and even the few twists this story contains are given away without any thought at all. The idea of a virus spreading through snake bites seems intriguing, but in this movie there are far too many questions left unanswered. Who are the terrorists in the beginning? What did the snakes feed upon the following years (without spreading the virus?). The only surprise was German actor Hannes Jaennicke as supporting doctor. I didn't think of him speaking English so fluently. If You want my advice for what it's worth. Don't pay for watching this movie. Go and rent "Outbreak", you will not regret it.
