There's hardly a community in America does doesn't offer some sort of a spook show or haunted house for kids during the Hallowe'en season, but the Hell House, sponsored by the Trinity Assembly of God Church in Dallas, TX, is something a bit different -- rather than scaring kids with folks dressed up as ghosts of vampires, the Hell House offers bizarre performance pieces in which youngsters are offered a glimpse of the fates church elders believe will await them if they stray from the path of a strict Christian life. The skits include tales of a gay man dying of AIDS-related illnesses, a woman bleeding to death after an abortion, a teenage girl who is date raped after being fed drugs at a rave party, and Satanists performing a human sacrifice. Hell House is a documentary that examines the "Hell House" phenomenon (which has inspired a large number of imitators around the country, and has been parodied on television shows such as King of the Hill and The Simpsons), offering a look at the preparations that go into the annual presentation and a glimpse into the lives of the people who stage and perform the cautionary fables. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

I myself to do not agree with what these people are doing. But this is an interesting peice just to watch on how extreme some religious groups can get when trying to convert people into there beliefs. They talk about a cult at some point in the movie and how evil a group like that is. But by watching this documentary these people seem like cult to me. lol The director did a good job though with this documentary by not being bias. It seems like an a accurate potrayal. My brother has been to this place once and he said it was an accurate representation. It's an interesting peice. If you are a fan of the documentary genre. Watch it.

Its an unusual movie that can be enjoyed or panned by either the left or right equally. Its educational to see what motivates the far right, but also a bit spooky to see the effect the indoctrination has on children. The film making is crude by most standards, but the editing and content make it an engaging film. There will be atheists and Christians who think this film was made for them to make a point about the other side.

This movie fails to take the audience into a virtual tour through the house. In other words, at the end of the movie, I was disappointed at not being able to get a tour of the the haunted house in its entirety.
