The Who & Special Guests: Live at the Royal Albert Hall (2000)
Member Rating:
In 2000, the Who staged one of their periodic reunions, and the highlight of the British leg of their world tour was a date at the Royal Albert Hall, in which the band was joined on-stage by a number of guest stars (among them Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, Noel Gallagher of Oasis, Paul Weller, Bryan Adams, and Nigel Kennedy) for a special show to Britain's Teenage Cancer Trust. This video presents highlights of that evening, as well as behind-the-scenes footage of the rehearsals for the show, and a glimpse of the goings-on backstage. Selections include "I Can't Explain," "Pinball Wizard," "Behind Blue Eyes," "Baba O'Riley," "So Sad About Us," "Magic Bus," and 17 others. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

This is a fantastic and powerful performance DVD. The Who sounds as good on the live DVD as they did in the studio 40(?) years ago. If you have a big screen with a bigger surround system - this is the one to melt the speakers with. I had always enjoyed the Who here & there, but I don't think I appreciated them until I saw them live (almost) on this disc. The video quality and camera angles are very good and you really get a feel of the Royal Albert Hall. The track list starts a little slow, but really "steps it up" a bit. 9 out of 10 stars.

This is great to play in surround sound! It's fun to watch. These people are multi-talented and they've still got the edge after spanning decades since their first hits.

A who fan through and through- There isn't enough content to bother renting this one. the disk contains a few thrown together clips of rehearsals with the who, very uninteresting as nobody says anything worthwhile of a dvd "VERY SHORT" sorry I wasted 3 days on getting a dvd back and forth from BB video.
