I can remember growing up in uptown New Orleans and hearing jazz and seeing the people gathering for her Halloween balls. New Orleans WAS a great place to live. I belonged to one of the few authentic Creole families, left in the city. My grandmother and aunt were very skilled in Voodoo and spells. My great uncle was a Voodoo priest. Anyone who wants to know the authnetic history of New Orleans can always trust what Ann Rice says. She has to be the most educated person regarding New Orleans

I have not read her books in a long time, but will re-read "Interview with the Vampire" probably. She has led quite a life and seen a lot of tragedy and I understand a lot of her life's experiences have ended up in her writing.
