Synopsis of The Guardian

A gangster hires a man whose loyalties can be bought, only to discover his previous alliances may put him in a dangerous place in this crime thriller. Paul Randall (Frank Zagarino) is a crime boss who gets the shock of his life when he discovers his mother has been brutally murdered; things become even more difficult for him when he discovers he's the prime suspect . Wanting justice and certain his enemies will be gunning for him when he's vulnerable, Paul decides to hire a bodyguard -- Steve Layton (Bryan Genesse), who has earned a reputation for guarding the safety of the wealthy and powerful. With Steve watching his back, Paul and his cronies try to find out who was responsible for his mother's death, but when he finds a link between Layton's family and his enemies, he wonders if the man he's hired to protect him may have killed his Mom, with Paul next on the hit parade. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
