In January of 1942, 15 of Adolf Hitler's right-hand men gathered together for a special meeting in Wannsee, in which over the course of two hours they debated the pros and cons of Hitler's latest directive and the best way to implement it. By the time they left, they had laid the practical groundwork for the "Final Solution," with the execution of every Jewish person in Europe as their goal. A transcript of the meeting has survived, and that document provided the basis for the screenplay for Conspiracy, which dramatizes (in real time) the meeting that led to the greatest crime of the 20th century. Conspiracy stars Kenneth Branagh, Colin Firth, Stanley Tucci, and David Threlfall; the film was produced for the premium cable network HBO, where it first aired on May 19, 2001. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

This was on HBO a couple of years ago. A chilling, sobering, fascinating, disgusting, appalling, brillantly written and acted story. Kenneth Branagh, Stanley Tucci and Colin Firth will curl your hair with their coldness, as well the entire supporting cast, as they sit around a table discussing the utter destruction of the Jews. A very interesting piece that will bring forth many different emotions. I highly recommend this film.

This movie was very hard to watch, but brilliantly directed. Listening to a table of 12 or so men decide how and when to exterminate 6 million Jews was very hard to sit through - even though I knew they were all actors. Which shows how good of a job each actor did in their portrayals of Nazi high officials of the "Final Solution." It's truly hard to believe each agreed to the lethal gas as the best way to implement this "solution." I can honestly say I will never rent this film again - - but it nevertheless takes away from the brilliance of the actors and director.

Movie was well-acted; so well-acted in fact that I despised the characters which were based on actual fact. Very dark subject; very factual movie.
