Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs, who perform the theme music for The Beverly Hillbillies, make their first on-camera series appearance. It seems that both Lester and Earl had once been the most ardent suitors of Cousin Pearl, so when the boys come to Beverly Hills for a visit, Jed throws a party in their honor. As for Pearl, she hopes to rekindle a few old romantic flames -- unaware that Lester and Earl are both married. Buxom Joi Lansing makes the first of several appearances as Mrs. Flatt, while Midge Ware is seen as Mrs. Scruggs.
