The life of the fabled Gallic leader Vercingetorix is brought to the screen in this epic international production. Young Vercingetorix came of age in 60 B.C., as soldiers of the Roman Empire ran roughshod over Gaul and his father was captured and executed by Romans. A wise and philosophical druid, Guttuart (Max Von Sydow), tells the angry Vercingetorix that he should seek justice by winning freedom for Gaul from the Romans. As an adult, Vercingetorix (Christophe Lambert) becomes a brave and insightful warrior, and at first joins forces with the charismatic Julius Caesar (Klaus Maria Brandauer). But in time Vercingetorix is betrayed by the great leader, and soon he raises an army of his own to defeat Caesar and bring Guttuart's prophesy to life. Ines Sastre also appears as Epona, the love of Vercingetorix's life. Vercingetorix was filmed on location in Bulgaria in both French- and English-language versions. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Sometimes people will describe a movie as the worst movie ever made, those people have obviously never seen Druids. You could leave for 45 minutes and come back not having missed a beat; only more scenes of Gauls drinking and making idiotic, macho-man comments, followed by the Highlander making another pseudo-philosophic, Braveheart-esqe comment about freedom or the nature of war or something, and then another completely incoherent battle scene (all of which consist solely of the interminable marching of various armies down country roads purposefully on their way to doing something which never seems to actually take place - though the marching is all very ominous). My brother and I watched this to its bitter end mainly because it does contain considerable Mystery Science Theatre 3000 value. NOTE: If you really, really like Xena: Warror Princess or the Hercules series with Lorenzo Llamas you may actually like this movie, otherwise steer clear.

Awful. Good Historical story, terrible script, way bad writing. The cast, no winners, Christopher Lamber, wow the bad of the bad.

Beautiful scenery, excelent computer graphics for large battle scenes. That's about all I can say that's good. Horrorable acting, very poor dubing of english, laughable dialoge. The very worst directing, most camera shots are bad actors with reaction shots that are held out and done over and over. Story line impossible to follow, characters pop in and out with no logic and you don't even care after a point. This movie is really, really bad. Don't waste your time.
