I have enjoyed Kylian's work for many years. Catch a few other glimpses of his genius on YouTube. These ballets are from the mid '90s. The company is super strong. Unique doesn't amply describe his choreographic style. But then, no other choreographer has a girl walking on apples, or men dancing with epees. This stuff is really unbelieveable. Yes, you certainly should be knowledgeable about dance before watching. You will then appreciate the incredible explorations this man makes.

To put it simply it's odd but if you like ballet and are willing to sit down and figure out what's going on in the acts then try it.
