In this short, one-hour drama, director Silvio Soldini has rejected anything but the simplest storyline and chosen to allow the changing emotional perspective of one woman to carry the movie. Giulia (Carla Chiarelli) is feeling as low down as it gets -- a meaningful love affair has ended and left her painfully alone. Giulia's slow and uneven recovery evolves through a series of episodic encounters, none of them particularly spectacular, but each help to bring her around. Soldini has done well with the mere $10,000 he had available to make this film.
