This HBO mini-series, produced by Tom Hanks, chronicles the story of NASA's efforts to carry out the vision. Episode two investigates the tragedy that occurred on January 27, 1967, when the Apollo I spacecraft caught fire during a test flight, killing astronauts Gus Grissom, Ed White, and Roger Chaffee.
