This movie felt like it was made in the later 80s, early 90s. The animation is dated, there are unexplained plotholes, and I felt like - according to the year it was released - it could have been MUCH Much better. Even so, it wasn't bad and had some plot (though more gore and violence than plot). And an orchestra was hired to play half the music, which is very nice. I recommend watching the japanese over the english.

You might like this better if you've played the game. The story is a bit rough and doesn't feel well connected. You get enough to connect the dots from beginning to end, but you'll have to work at it. The animation feels closer to Saturday-Morning-Cartoons than an animated feature. Add to this some iffy vocal work and you have a below average anime experience. Still, it's not all bad. If you missed the game and regretted it, this might help make up for it.
