Founder of the Slamdance Film Festival Paul Rachman makes his feature-length debut with this tale of dishonor among thieves, solidly in the vein of 1994's Shallow Grave. When four friends (Olivia Williams, Balthazar Getty, Daniel London, and Stacy Edwards) travel to Buenos Aires to crash a wedding reception, they have more on their mind than just a lively evening of free drinks and the Chicken Dance. With the aid of ace thief Felix (Tim Curry), they steal a precious Degas statuette from the mansion owner hosting the shindig and abscond to L.A. Unfortunately, the objet d'art is nowhere to be found, and the covert dealer (Forest Whitaker) who's expecting it is none too pleased. He demands that they come up with the piece or $1,000,000 immediately. To solve their problem, the four compadres take out life insurance policies on each another and plot out which friend is going to die in order to proffer the heist money. ~ Michael Hastings, Rovi

This movie was nothing but foul language interspersed with actors trying to figure their way out of the position they got themselves in after stealing a valuable piece of art from a wealthy man. I wouldn't waste your time renting this one.

This movie had a good cast on paper but bad acting in reality. It may have just been bad writing. In any event, I wanted to be excited about this movie, and it just wasn't exciting. The screenplay just seemed... amateur. I kept thinking the whole time that it seemed like a Guy Ritchie movie, except it would have been so much better if he had done it. I rented it because of comparisons to Shallow Grave... I see that a bit, but Shallow Grave was much, much better.

This movie never quite set the hook in me. These folks go to elaborate means to whack each other to avoid a predictament with a mafia dude. I kept thinking - based on an "Achems razor" approach wouldn't it have been easier to whack the mafia guy than each other.... I was also distracted by thinking of much better twists and endings and clever ways they could have turned around the situation. Well, the ending was ok. In summary: take out the middle 50 minutes and I would have liked it as a quirky short.
