Humanity struggles for survival in a new and watery world in this animated adventure saga from Japan. Massive worldwide flooding has caused most of the world to be covered with water, and those still living on dry land find themselves locked in battle with those living on the newly expanded oceans. The crew of Blue Submarine No. 6 is trying to bring a peaceful resolution to this conflict as they confront the evil Zorndyke. Mayumi Kino, the young and idealistic pilot of No. 6, wants to recruit Tetsu Hayami for her crew, but while they share common goals, they have different ideas of how those goals should be achieved.
