A Woman's Guide to Adultery (1993)

Synopsis of A Woman's Guide to Adultery

Based on a novel by Carol Clewlow, the three-part British miniseries A Woman's Guide to Adultery chronicled the sexual interrelations between three married couples. Only Rose (Theresa Russell), the nominal heroine, abstained from extramarital hanky-panky. However, the siren song of Temptation proved strong indeed, and Rose's resistance was worn down bit by bit as those around her seemed to be having such a jolly good time. Remarkably frank in its dialogue and depiction of contemporary carnality, A Woman's Guide to Adultery first aired in 1993. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Wonderful chick flick! Great to watch curled up on a couch on a lazy afternoon The entire cast did a great job, and the storyline had its surprises. Amanda Donohoe, who is sadly not recognized with a bio and movie history in the Special Features, should also get a nod along with Bean and Russell.

This film had its moments. the best moments were of Sean Bean and the steamy love scenes. In addition, there is a definite message to all of those women who choose to get involved with a married man. 2 stars

This is one of the first films that Sean Bean melted the screen with his steamy love scenes, accent, and beautiful body. Theresa Russell plays the satisfied, yet jilted lover very well. There is so much going on, but Bean and Russell definately monoploize the screen. This is a must see for all of those Bean fans in the U.S. He is definately worth watch over and over and over!
