From his modest beginnings in Montreal to his "Kammersänger" appointment at the Vienna State Opera, this documentary/performance video celebrates the voice of opera star George London. Distributed by Kultur Films, Inc. and shown in period black-and-white, this piece of nostalgia puts Mr. London center stage with such compatriots as Dorothy Warenskjold and Nadine Connor. With music by such famed composers as Rodgers and Hammerstein, Jerome Kern, and Sigmund Romberg, this production mixes a timeless talent with the classic sound of the 1950s. Selected arias include songs from his favorite role of Boris Godunov and from Le Nozze Di Figaro in which he starred with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf.
