Nico and Dani (2000)

Nico and Dani (2000)
Member Rating:
In this Spanish coming-of-age drama, two teenage boys find their sexual awakening and liberty put to the test over the summer of 1999. Nico (Jordi Vilches) is a budding motorcycle mechanic who has been invited to stay for the season by his best friend Dani (Fernando Ramallo). Dani's parents have left for an Egyptian vacation, leaving the two boys with the run of a summer home over the course of ten days. After bouts of smoking marijuana, eating junk food, and drinking, the boys emerge in innocent sexual games, including "krampack," a Spanish euphemism for "hand-job." After their self-involved sexual escapades, the two begin to forge a sexual relationship until two local girls, Elena (Marieta Orozco) and Berta (Esther Nubiola), enter their lives and begin to take an interest in them. Dani still pines for Nico, with whom he has fallen in love, but Nico only sees their sex play as fun and becomes more involved with the prospect of female attention. When jealousy starts to consume Dani, he finds solace in an older man, Julian (Chisco Amado), whom he sees as a potential rebound for his feelings toward Nico, even though his heart may still lie with his friend. Krampack is adapted from a Spanish play of the same name by acclaimed Barcelona native Cesc Gay. ~ Jason Clark, Rovi

You know I have no Idea why i rented this movie, well I do my girlfriend told me to watch it. I must warn you that it has some strong sexual content. Over all it is an interesting movie but not great kind of weird. In my opinion you can go without watching this movie, you wouldn't miss much.

I agree with one of the other reviewers. When Dani has a sure thing with a man who wants to mess around Dani turns tail and runs out. I guess this is to show Dani is still unsure about what he desires even though he thought he knew. His crush on his life-long friend is realisticly played out being that his friend is not gay. However, if your going to make a gay coming of age movie at least give us gays something to wish for. This movie leaves you wondering why bother - making friends you will just alienate, meeting girls who will just get on your nerves, and possible sexual encounters you blow off for lack of guts. To me this is a movie that sends a message of hopelessness to gay youth.

this was the most sexless gay movie i've ever seen other than the date rape scene which i thought was completely unnecessary. the two girls in the movie came off looking like idiots and the two boys got away with way too much. if you like movies where minors smoke pot, drink vodka and lay around on the beach all day this is the movie for you.
