Ben Redgrave's acting in this sometimes slow moving drama is very impressive. Ben takes a very complex role and makes it real. The result is an easy to believe character, Jack. Ben's character Jack emerges from a strong but quiet persona to a man with deep emotional & intellectual substance. As Jack transforms, his friend David moves through his own transformation, though not necessary in the same direction. Both men are struggling to find more meaning in their lives. This is a good movie if you can be patient with the flow. It's certainly worth seeing the terrific acting by Ben Redgrave.

This was a disappointing movie. No one would want to see this fat disgusting guy who is constantly trying to be some sex god which is in itself unbelievable by just looking at him like he could actually pick up women. His straight/gay friend was determined to have anonymous non-involved sex and then he became involved with his work buddy and became possessive and suddenly wanted a monogomous relationship.... I would not recommemd this movie to be viewed by anyone. It would be a total waste of time with no storyline, bad dialect and even worse acting.

I liked this movie. The title didn't neccessarily mean a str8 man, but more of one struggling with his identity. I thought the performances were strong and worth a watch.
