The Mayflower Pilgrims (1995)
Member Rating:
Produced and directed by Peter Conner and Alan Mumby, The Mayflower Pilgrims tells the story of how and why the pilgrims came to America. In the late 16th century, religious Separatists began to develop a new, simpler way of worshipping, avoiding what they thought to be the trappings of ritual and the state control of the Church of England. To escape persecution in England, these Separatists first fled to the Netherlands, but still unsatisfied, set off for the New World in 1620, arriving in Massachusetts on the Mayflower. These Pilgrims founded a new society and their beliefs eventually formed some of the basic principles of what was to become the most powerful democracy in the world, most notably, freedom of religion. Viewers can follow their amazing journey in this intriguing historical documentary. ~ Dana Rowader, Rovi

More like a documentary, and I thought from the cover, it would be a cartoon for my small home schooled kids to watch?????? They watched, but were not thrilled about it.
