In this WWII romance, Harrison Ford (face-to-face with superstardom from his involvement in Star Wars) is cast as David Halloran, an American bomber pilot stationed in London. During an air raid, Halloran meets and falls in love with beautiful Briton Margaret Sellinger (Lesley-Anne Down). Naturally, Margaret is married, and just as naturally David hopes that this won't make too much difference in their relationship. But this is not to be: Halloran is assigned behind enemy lines on a dangerous assignment, and his partner in this endeavor is Margaret's husband, Paul (Christopher Plummer). ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

I love this period of time and this movie is so very romantic, the music is beautifully romantic and boy oh boy does Harrison Ford deliver. (It's a young and yummy handsome Harrison Ford and a beautiful Leslie Ann). Of course they have a hot and steamy romance and I won't give away the ending. There's action packed sceens with the two men racing through Germany with the enemy hot on their trail. It's mine and my husband's favorite WWll love story. You will love it too.

Well done WWII period piece about an American pilot stationed in England who falls for a woman (Lesley-Anne Downs) who turns out to be married w/a family. The ins & outs of the movie are a bit predictable, but the ending is anything but usual and therefore makes the film quite a good one. Christopher Plummer is superb in his role as the unknowing husband who ends up on a flight tour with the young pilot. Worth a rental and a bit of a good movie watching.

A cute war story. Wait a minute, huh? Nothing's cute about a war story but that's what the director, etc. tried. I guess it's a popular idea. Ford must have loved making this movie with Downs in his arms. Whew. BTW Susan L. and Lisa A., my wife liked this movie a lot, too. My uncle used to sit in the nose of one of these slow-moving bombers as it flew from Italy to Africa. His job was to photograph the enemy movements.
