This is an excellant documentary-type movie. Very well done and well edited. Musical background makes what might be ordinary behavior very amusing. Both my husband and I enjoyed it...we both like animals/nature.

This move is terrific fun to watch even though it was made over 30 years ago. It is retro cool. In introducing the viewer to the various African locations of animal habitat being explored by the film maker, a hand drawn map transitions magically into each real place, zooming in from above-a sort of charming predecessor to Google Earth--only with more art. The photography, classical music, the animals and their antics are timeless and classic. The animals eating the fermented fruit and becoming tipsy was particularly amusing but the entire movie is a timeless treasure.

This is a pretty incredible movie for those who love animal movies. I particularly enjoyed when the animals got drunk, and when the tribesman "tricked" the little baboon into showing him where water was. It's not all happy times though. But, still a great animal movie to show friends and family. I'll be adding it to my collection.
