The Coroner (2000)

The Coroner (2000)
Member Rating:
Emma Santiago (Jane Longnecker) is a defense attorney who specializes in helping disenfranchised clients who would otherwise slip through the cracks of the judicial system. She is aware of a rash of serial killings in the city, but has no idea that she's being stalked by the same monster. While jogging at night, Emma is abducted by a man who chains her in his cellar and torments her, referring cryptically to a suicide attempt she made at age 14. Emma escapes, but is hit by a car right outside the house. After coming to in the hospital, she leads police to the man's house and discovers that her adversary is the city's Chief Medical Examiner, Dr. Leon Uraski (Dean St. Louis). Unfortunately, his secret torture chamber is carefully hidden and the police find no evidence, leading them to believe she is insane. This begins a game of cat-and-mouse between Emma and Leon, as she attempts to find proof that he is methodically killing suicide survivors (he believes that they've cheated him by not dying and longs to "re-create the moment of denial"), despite the fact that he can destroy evidence during autopsies and has the police force on his side. ~ Fred Beldin, Rovi

Kind of reminded me of something from Lifetime. Essentially, not much really to put it in the horror category.
