Synopsis of Dali

Salvador Dali was one of the best known and most influential artists of the 20th century. A pioneering figure in the early surrealist movement, Dali quickly won international acclaim for his paintings which featured bizarrely juxtaposed images and remarkably realistic depictions of visual hallucination and distortion. In addition to his paintings, Dali was notable for his work as a filmmaker, author, and designer, and was one of the first great examples of the artist as media celebrity. This documentary by filmmaker Adam Low explores Dali as artist, man, and public figure, and features interviews with the painter and his colleagues, as well as footage of Dali at work at the Teatro Museo Dali in Figureas, Spain. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
