If you are familiar with the character Captain Harlock and the movie "Galaxy Express 999" you will enjoy this. It has all the classic character design and attitude. If you haven't though, I would suggest watching "Arcadia of my youth", the Harlock movie and also "Galaxy Express". I'm not sure how this would be appreciated otherwise. I thoroughly enjoyed this DVD. I hope more of the series get's released (if there is any more).

I liked this one, but you could tell that it was once part of a series (that apparently never quite panned out). This is actually an ending to an old anime series that let the viewers know what happened to Emeraldas after the series ended. It's two episodes long. The (American) voices worked for me on this one. However (and this is why I only gave it four stars) you can't shake the feeling that you come into this one mid-stride, and that (having never seen the Galaxy 999 series) you are missing out on something. Otherwise, a good piece of Japanese animation.
