Godzilla vs. Hedorah (1971)

Godzilla vs. Hedorah (1971)
Member Rating:
Beyond a doubt the weirdest chapter in Toho's Godzilla saga, this eco-conscious entry pits the Big Green Guy against a living mass of industrial sludge dubbed "Hedora." Capable of splitting into numerous satellite monsters and secreting sulfuric acid, Hedora grows exponentially larger as it absorbs more pollution and merely divides again when Godzilla tries to attack it. After wiping out a disco with its toxic secretions (from the monster, not the music), Hedora goes airborne and attacks Mount Fuji, where blasts of electricity and Godzilla's atomic breath finally burn it to a crisp. Oddball stylistic touches, including split-screen animation and a hilarious pop ditty called "Save the Earth" (featuring the lyric "Find a solution to stop pollution..."), helped to condemn the film in the eyes of Godzilla purists everywhere. ~ Cavett Binion, Rovi

a mix of a child friendly superhero film mixed with enviromental statments, drug enduced hippy exploitation pictures and a nasty scifi/horror all in one. this one is really weird and its one of my favorites.

I loved it! Well, me and my friend Ferdy watched it in Japanese with French subtitles (neither of us speak either of those languages...) So we dubbed it ourselves! I have to say that we very much enjoyed ourselves. If you're a Godzilla fan you'll love it. Especially when you see Godzilla FLY!!! Don't listen to John B. he's a stupid-head and should be locked in a cage filled with angry wombats!

Well through honest opinion dear public I do say it was rather miss conceaved as a good movie. The story jumped from scene to scene out of order. The only good parts were at the end when Godzilla learned to fly and Hedorah was about to be killed especialy if you say (in a very child hi to low low to high baby talk pitch) and say Pwetty pwetty lightys pwetty pwetty even though they awr leading me to my deaf I go to pwetty pwetty light awwwwwww they stopped!
