I long for the days of late 80s and early 90s HK action films, which were unfussy, fast moving and featured record amounts of broken glass and stuntmen and stuntwomen doing things that no doubt landed them in the hospital half of the time. Now, THAT's entertainment! Instead we get brooding exercises in mayhem saturated in Style, such as Ballistic Kiss. It seems like half of the action happens in slow motion in bullet time. Ugh. Other than that, it's not too bad. I guess.

cant read 20 words per second. I don't understand chinese & the movie offered subtitles in English. HOWEVER, the subtitles change as quickly as the actors speak so it was really hard to keep up. After about 10 minutes, I got tired of focusing on catching the words than missing the action (that didnt build up yet) so I just shut it off. I'm sure it's a decent movie if you understood Chinese & I love Donnie Yen, but I was not in the mood for speed reading.
