No Vacancy (1999)
Member Rating:
The doors are opened on a group of misfits living in a seedy motel on the edge of Los Angeles in the comedy No Vacancy. At the run-down Pink Motel, the owner (Joaquim de Almeida) is furious with his daughter when he finds out she's been sleeping with her boyfriend. This doesn't make her very different from most of the people staying at his establishment, where attractive young women wake up with men they don't recall meeting, sleazy guys cavort with hookers, and most of the tenants are ready to clobber each other. The cast includes Christina Ricci, Lolita Davidovich, Gabriel Mann, Steven Schub and Robert Wagner. No Vacancy was screened at the 1999 Los Angeles Independent Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

This movie is boring. Maybe it's just me, but I'm tired of watching movies that are made for people with ADD. The plot really doesn't go anywhere and just when you are starting to get somewhat interested in the story, they change to the next story. This is multiple stories all rolled up into one. Most of the characters are annoying and you really don't get a chance to care about any one of them. The story puts the characters in unbelievable situations. I was not impressed with this movie at all. If you decide to rent it, I hope you enjoy it more than I did!

I at first received Vacancy instead of this movie, and I had to contact Blockbuster to get the right movie sent to me. I'm glad I did. I found this movie to be surprisingly entertaining. Many of the characters are exaggeratedly hilarious, and even the dramatic moments are humorous.
