This production, which is designed by Hockney and very well performed, is a delight. The role of the three boys is performed by three sopranos, Although I prefer seeing boys used in this role, as to my mind they add a certain air of innocence, this in no way detracts from the production.

All performers well chosen for their roles. I especially enjoyed Leo Gocke asTamino and Benjamin Luxon as Papageno! Unique backgrounds and settings.

Music was well timed. Papageno's beard and Tamino's hair seem to date the production a little bit. Nicely acted Papageno.
