Charles Manson Superstar (1989)
Member Rating:
Charles Manson Superstar takes a documentary look at Charles Manson and his unhealthy "family" of cult members and ruthless killers. Famous family members include Lynette Frome, Leslie Van Houten, and Patricia Krenwinkel. One of the group's most vicious crimes was the murder of pregnant actress Sharon Tate in Hollywood. Attorney Vincent Bugliosi prosecuted the case. The program pieces together archival news footage, police photographs, an uncensored interview with Manson himself, and more to tell the dark story of an insane man with a mission. ~ Betsy Boyd, Rovi

All one will do watching this "film" is try to decide if Manson or the filmmaker is the more delusional moron. What a piece of crap.

One doesn't watch a movie about Charles Manson and expect light entertainment. But truthfully, the only person who would enjoy this self-serving, narcissistic view of one of the most evil human beings in history would be Charles Manson himself. He preens and prances for the camera, pretending that he "connects" with the filmmaker, who is as manipulated by this maniac as the "Manson family" was. I gave it one star only because the film does succeed at showing who Charles Manson really is - a pathetic, aging, egotistical murderer with more than a few brain cells missing.
