Progressive rock legend Yes is captured on-stage in this 1979 concert film; the band's lineup for this show was Jon Anderson, Steve Howe, Chris Squire, Rick Wakemen, and Alan White. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
Having seen Yes in concert three times during the 70's, I eagerly anticipated the arrival of this ballyhoed Philadelphia '79 performance. I was sorely disappointed in this release. The audio quality is horrific... compressed dynamic range and a spotty, incomplete mix is nowhere near the quality of what I recall from having attended Yes concerts.
The video work is equally abysmal. Clumsy, out-of-focus camera work is a chore to watch, for the most part. The entire package wreaks of amateurism. It's only saving grace is its documentary value, as it does capture Yes at one of their career peaks. However, if you're looking for an uplifting, artistic experience... you won't find it in this recording.
When I saw this 1979 YES concert available, I was excited to get it and watch. Totally disappointing. Video and sound quality were aweful. I would not recomend it to even the most diehard Yes fan. Nothing more to say.
I wish I had heeded the call of previous reviews. The concert I remember is not what I saw on this video. POOR sound, POOR video shots, a dissapointment and a waste of time.
