Forever a Diva! Wow! is an understatement. What beauty, grace, and vocal ability into her eighth decade at time of this release. Lena is what legends are made of. There are only a handfull of singers that can just stand at centerstage and emote such power and elegance at the same time that they become ONE with the music. It's hard too believe that Lena is now in her ninth decade, but it's a blessing that her magic is forever captured in this musical event. Lena's unmatched performance of the song "Ours" left me feeling that I was listening to an angel from Heaven. Thank you Miss Lena.

Lena had the ability and talent to allow us to see who she is and what she experienced in her life with this performance. Absolutely wonderful!!!

That a 77 year old woman can deliver a performance like this is, in itself, amazing. Beyond that, her reflections on what she has gotten out of life, through the songs and lyrics she has chosen to sing-- and the intensity with which she delivers them-- are spellbinding. The musicians behind her are exceptional (her own small group, plus the Count Basie Orchestra), and the audience seems to sense they witnessing a rare and possibly last chance to experience Lena Horne live, which, in fact, they were. After this performance (at the New York Supper Club), she repeated it once at Carnegie Hall, and then essentially dropped from public view. I have watched this DVD repeatedly and enjoy it more each time. I hope I myself retreat from the stage of life with this much grace and savoir-faire.
