In George Demick's execrably bad horror film Asylum of Terror, people attend a cheesy carnival, the centerpiece of which is a haunted prison called Death Row. The prison was built in 1900 and was once an asylum for the criminally insane, housing an infamous serial killer. While waiting in line, the five teen leads meet a creepy weirdo who tells them to pretend there's a real psycho in the haunted house. The cast stumbles around dark hallways in tight close-up for what seems like an eternity, then a carnival worker is beaten with a hammer and unconvincingly hacked with a machete by a guy in a Jason mask. When one of the teens is really hanged to death in front of the appreciative spectators, it becomes clear that the psycho can proceed with impunity. ~ Robert Firsching, All Movie Guide
