Getting Off is a thought-provoking film about the way that women behave with men and how experiences in our past can drive us to do things that we know aren't good for us. Like we sometimes act promiscuously as a way to punish ourselves. It's also a great examination of the way that we judge each other for our behavior. And how you don't really know someone until you know their darkest and most painful secrets. Also a perceptive take on the ways that women can be the greatest friends to each other and also total cut throats. This film really spoke to me. Amy Ryan and Brooke Smith are amazing. And the cinematography is beautiful. You'll see shots of NYC, you haven't seen before.
