If it were not for Rita Hayworth I would not have even bothered to watch this movie. This is an older looking Rita Hayworth and she doesn't do much but give sad and pitiful depressing stares. Her character was shallow. I guess that's not her fault but the fault of the script's lack of character developement. Robert Mitchum's character was obnoxious, and I did not enjoy watching him. The movie started out well with the Limbo dancing ect. but the movie just dragged the longer I watched it.

I found this movie, interesting, engaging and at times downright funny, because of Jack Lemmon. In any case this movie is entertaining and worth watching, at least once.

What they don't tell you is that somewhere around the 60 minute mark, Rita Hayworth and Robert Mitchum dissappear from this movie completely. Then it becomes a sad "Ace in the Hole" ripoff with Jack Lemmon taking center stage? WTF? And the 1950s crappy ending was NOT appreciated either. This movie is a serious letdown. And Mitchum wears the SAME dirty costume in every scene from start to finish - what gives?
