Vincent Gallo surprise everyone when he directed this extremely low budget, yet extremely entertaining film. What a first film! Vincent took a lot of long shots, and greasy close-ups which really gave character to the film. His "Billy Brown" makes us wonder what Vincent's own childhood was like. The strange mother and father team (Houston and Gazzara) made wonderful parents who were more interested in football then their son, although he was doing his best to impress them. Gallo's depressive, homely, and neurotic character will keep you smiling. And Ricci plays off of Gallo very well in this bizarre romance story. Also features an original sountrack, also by star and director Vincent Gallo.

Vincent Gallo and Christina Ricci made a marvelous duo in this twisted sexy love tale.

I watched his movie because it was on blockbusters must see list. I did not like it at all with the exception of Ricci. She did a good job in this dark, off beat, movie about twisted people. I would not recommend this to anyone, much less put in on the 1001 movies you must see list.
