Beautiful Laura Fraser plays a very liberal minded Jewish philosophy student in the early 70s who takes a much needed job with a Hasidic famly. She struggles to stay with this family on various levels but finds a special connection with their 4 year old son and opts to stay. Her own parents are Holocaust survivors that she also struggles to understand. Also stars Issabella Rossellini, Maximilian Schell and Jeroen Krabbe who directs as well.
